ROCZEN ON 450MX PODIUM AGAIN AT HIGH POINT
14 June, 2014 - High Point National, Mt Morris PA - AMA 450 MX Results - Race #4 High Point PA - Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series - 450MX class
The Red Bull KTM Factory team may not have won the fourth round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series at the High Point Motocross National in Pennsylvania, but they continue to lead the AMA MX standings after both Ken Roczen and former champion Ryan Dungey both claimed podium finishes.
Despite qualifying strongly, both ETS-fuelled riders were forced to work their way from the mid-pack in Moto 1, again battling each other for position in the closing laps, with the young German once more getting the better of his experienced American team-mate to take the runner-up position, with Dungey third.
In Moto 2 both riders completed the opening lap inside the top five, but were unable to catch runaway leader James Stewart. They were again facing a battle for a podium position, with Dungey getting the better of Roczen in the closing laps before a fall dropped him back to fourth at the flag.
“Not getting a good start in both motos hurt me today”, stated Roczen. “I got held up a little bit at certain times on the track but I was happy with how I bounced back from poor starts and still landed on the podium. I’m happy to be consistent and continue to hold the point lead heading to the next round.”
Next Round: June 28, 2014 - Tennessee National, Blountville TN
